FUTURES FOR CHILDREN

When the COVID-19 crisis reached its peak in early 2020, more than 1.5 billion boys and girls primary and secondary school students – were out of school to avoid contagion (UNESCO, 2020). It has never been so crucial to support the right to education of the boys and girls of our Peruvian Amazon in these times of global crisis. The coherence between humanitarian action and cooperation for development is a broad and complex issue that is related to our Amazonian reality, the river people villages and towns depend on the cities that systematically force children to attend schools in large cities, of this way they separate children from their families for the whole year.

– Our Foundation aims to support these low-income children with planning, programming and financing to build schools directly in the river people villages and towns where the disadvantaged live in the most remote areas in the Peruvian Amazon, in this way they can obtain the benefit to Initial and Primary education. Thus avoiding the separation of children from their parents.

Communities and parents play an important role in ensuring that their school-age children attend schools by working hard in hunting, fishing, agriculture and other activities to get school supplies and be able to send their children to school.

– Therefore, our Foundation contributes to these children by providing them with school supplies, shoes, uniforms and everything they need for their long-awaited education.

The Amazon rainforest is the largest on the planet. The Amazon is a landscape of extremes, but the connection between peoples is a fundamental and primordial issue because the areas are mostly flooded areas. In this way, transport becomes a fundamental need to transport families and especially children to their schools.

– Our Foundation has within its social support program to grant wooden boats and motors (Peque Peque) for these low-income families as a way of transportation.
